Target percentages change as your REAL revenue moves into a new range.
Based on Profit Builder's estimated target allocations, shown as planning benchmarks. Your actual targets will depend on your business structure, profitability and available cash.
What to Include in Your Assessment
- Revenue: Total business revenue, excluding sales tax collected.
- Pass-Through: Equipment, software, and qualifying resale costs excluded from Real Revenue.
- PROFIT: Total money added to your PROFIT account during the year, including interest earned. Do not include beginning balances or count quarterly distributions twice. Calculate: Ending PROFIT Balance − Beginning PROFIT Balance + Withdrawals.
- Owner's Pay: W-2 wages and regular draws, excluding profit distributions counted above.
- Taxes: Money intentionally reserved for income taxes.
- OPEX: Business expenses, including employee payroll, excluding owner's pay, pass-through costs already deducted, and bonuses paid from the PROFIT account.
Current percentages show how your business allocated money during the reporting period.
Targets are guidelines to work toward, not amounts you must immediately allocate. Best practice is to start small and gradually increase towards your target percentage.
